truth

Truth can only come to us when we no longer desire a particular reality. For whilst we have an idea in our mind – as to what should be, or what we would like to be, or even an idea as to what is – then this idea hides us from the truth. As we let go of the mind, the thinking mind with its memories; as we let go of this as our comfort blanket, as our comfort zone; as we dare to step outside that thinking mind, into the spacious silence of our being, then for the first time we begin to sense reality as it is, without any need to fix it; fix it in either sense of correcting it or of solidifying it. For the truth is a flow, the flow of what is. Existence is a living process, not a dead thing. So you will never find truth in a book. It may have been true in a moment but even before the ink has dried on the page, that moment has gone, the truth has moved on.

Truth comes to us when we are receptive to it; when we have become feminine, passive, womb-like in our consciousness; waiting for existence to speak to us; without any dialogue in our mind. Truth is known directly, in this silence, and this truth cannot be conveyed in words. It is one’s own truth. There is no doubt about one’s own truth when experienced directly. That is why, at last, the word truth has real meaning. Normally, ordinarily, people rely on authority to define truth; on others to say what is; not trusting their own subjective experience.

The spiritual path requires us to turn inwards and take a lonesome journey into our subjective world, deeper and deeper into ourselves. No one else can tell you what you will find there. You must go and find it for yourself. For the deeper you go, the less adequate will words be. When you reach to the essence of your being, here we find truth – undeniable, unquestionable. It is a felt thing, not of the intellect. This truth, when we finally chance upon it, is a bedrock. The chaos of the rest of life is no longer a problem. So look inside yourselves, my friends. Go deep into your silence and find the place within you which is truth. Reside here and life will flow easily and you will know peace.
